So I finished up the hall table and delivered it to my Auntie before Christmas. We decided to use commercial pulls rather than me turn up 4 round pulls. Some people do not like, but my Auntie loves it - and that is all that matters. As you can tell by the last pictures, were... Continue Reading →
African Olive Natural Edge Bowls
Turned a natural edge bowl out of African Olive. Really happy with this piece. The branch of the piece stayed on - super happy with that. Started like this. Had to take a fair bit of material away because of the pith. There was also a massive crack that ran straight though the bowl. I... Continue Reading →
5 day woodturning with Richard Raffan
Every year I try and spend some time with a wood master to improve and hone my skills. The 5 day Woodturning course was offered by the Sturt School of Wood again so I quickly enrolled again. This would be the 5th of 6th time that I have done this course with Richard. I find... Continue Reading →
A CAMPHOR LAUREL HALL TABLE PART 4.
Now that the carcass is finished, time to install the draws. I didn't use traditional draws and decided to use steel full extension ball bearing draw runners. Veneering up the MDF door
The cabinet is all done so I am now fixing on the veneer onto the MDF that will be the cabinet doors. It's going to be a frameless door so I can't use solid timber. Solid timber will warp and distort so it is unsuitable for a frameless door. I use a home made... Continue Reading →

The document box now has a suede insert.
Ok. I got the box lines with spray on suede. I love the finish. For those that was asking about the depth of the tray, I have lifted the bottles out to show you why they are so deep. Anyone want me to make a video on how the suede was applied? DavidxLim.
